We have a great spot for rent in the Oakland Hills. You get 2 rooms and a bathroom for $850. There is a big kitchen, great for cooks. Also, a garden with lots of gardening opportunities. We are in a great spot for commuting, very close to hwy 13 and 580. You would be sharing the house with 2 creative and laid back folks and their 2 cats.
